Wow! And here we authors thought we were writing fiction when we described the bronze medallion our heros and heroines are searching for!!! Turns out there really is a medallion very similar to the one featured in our Time Raiders books. I just watched a National Geographic TV show called Secrets of the Star Disk that describes this incredible disk.
The show tells how grave robbers in central Europe discovered it and other Bronze age implements; how the disk circulated on the antiquities black market for years; and how authorities finally recovered it in 2000. The show also details how they authenticated the age of the Star Disk and gives fascinating glimpses into the culture of the people who created it.
The show airs again on Sunday, August 2nd, at 10 am. Don't miss it!
